I didn’t know how easy life was in Gaza City until I spent some days in Rafah at the Egyptian border. Where in Gaza you still had some intact buildings, in Rafah there was only rubble. Some houses looked like white Swiss cheese; the place must have its own concept of static because technically these houses weren’t supposed to even stand anymore.
